Review: Sugar Spray Paint by Ironlak
Spray Smart, Ironlak’s Sugar Artist’s Acrylic paint
I call myself Dr. Greed because I really am a doctor, a holistic doctor. I’ve had a lot of health challenges when I was younger and I attribute some of them to years of using spray paint without proper protection.
Since I started painting again, in the past three years, I’ve tried to use a respirator as much as possible because I am very cautious about my health these days. When I heard about Ironlak’s Sugar paint I wanted to check it out as fast as possible. I got in touch with East at the Cypher shop in Denver and had a case sent out. This past weekend I tested it out at North West Spray Day in Washington. Continue reading
Portland Graffiti Art
Graffiti as art in Portland
As a graffiti artist that has been wanting to flex my creative muscles again after a 15 year break to become a doctor and teacher, I am thankful for the help of Jeffrey Miller from the White Space Gallery in Portland, Oregon’s Pearl District for the support. After a rather large turnout for my first ever showing of graffiti art on canvas in August, Jeffery Miller has asked me to have another show for January’s first Thursday art walk in NW Portland. The show is on January 2, 2014 6pm at the White Space Gallery.
Denver Graffiti
Dr. Greed in Denver video
As posted recently, I was in Denver for the Colorado Crush Graffiti Festival. Click here to see more.
I took some video footage of the happenings there. Hope fully you can get a sense of what a great event these guys put on! There was a large attendence form former and present NY artists. Definitely some heavy hitter from Denver, California and more.
Here are some great links to what was going on at the mile high city in the heatwave!

Ewok, Asis and Greed Seattle 2012
Painting with Ewok and Asis
Last Summer Mr. Ewok One came out to the Pacific Northwest to paint with Asis and me. What happened?
- Brainlington Seattle
- Ewok signs Armani sunglasses with evolve spray paint
- Hera Won and I painted a wall and were asked by elitist tattoo artists to buff it the next day.
- 6ft tall tattooed blonde tries her best to seduce Dr. Greed
- Greed sleeps in an eco friendly converted storage container
- Quickies at Tubs Seattle wall
- Taking over the Tacoma Graffiti Garages for a day
- Hit up the former Seattle SODO legal wall

A3 Seattle Graffiti Tour
Last year one of my old painting homies, Asis, was living up in Seattle and he was responsible for many painting trips. Since I’m now living in Portland, Oregon the 3 hour trips weren’t bad at all to get some painting done. He also introduced me to Hera Won who has been getting busy in up in the Emerald city too. I met a very talented and cool female artist from British Colombia at a Portland gallery show that she was having, Phresha, we talked and she was down to paint. As my graffiti fire started burning again, my old painting partner Cortes NYC (formally Waqs) started getting excited. We planned a trip to Seattle to get together and paint after more than a decade. It was a great experience! Three walls in a weekend, some partying, some injuries, lots of good times! See the video below!

The doctor formally known as Greed
Greed was asked how he feels about his style
What does Greed think about his graffiti style?
I was recently asked by someone if I usually liked the stuff that I create? This artist was asking me because they were struggling with their own style. A lot of the time I don’t like what I do… to the point where people like ASIS one would say, “Let me guess… you hate it, right?”. I actually like my work only about 25% of the time… and if you think I’m whack, good!
Clouds can have a Rustoleum Silver lining!
I am a perfectionist. I always find fault with my style, my painting, my colors and my skill. This can be a gift though! I am always striving to do better. I always compare myself to the top guns in the graff world… I should be like them! I think that any good artist is their own worst critic. This pushes that artist to improve, to evolve (or be created if you are a fundamentalist christian graff writer). Continue reading
